How to Translate a Video
When you want to understand a video you love but aren’t familiar with the language, Add Subtitle’s video translation helps you cross the language barrier in one click. It not only translates video content accurately, naturally, and smoothly, but also aims to preserve the speaker’s original vocal tone and expression style during dubbing—so the translated version still feels “true to the original”.
In this tutorial, you will learn how to:
Create a 「Video Translation」 project
Change (or adjust) dubbing voices
Translating a video in Add Subtitle is just as easy: prepare a local video file or a video link, upload it to the cloud, and you can quickly generate subtitles and translations, then preview and edit them in the editor.
Create a Project
Go to the Projects page and click 「Video Translation」.
Click 「Click to upload」 to select a local video (you can also drag and drop the video into the upload area), or click 「YouTube Link」 to paste the video URL.
Click 「Select Language」 to set the video’s source language and target translation language, then click 「Submit」 to start uploading. In this step, you can also select the number of speakers and the voice you want to clone; of course, you can also choose 「Auto Detect」 to let the system recognize it automatically.
Change Dubbing Voices
After the upload finishes, you’ll enter the editor where you can preview and edit subtitle content.
Click 「Dubbing」 on the left to open the dubbing dashboard; if you need to edit the dubbing text, click the 「Enter script content」 text box and edit it (don’t forget to click 「Update」 after editing).
Dubbing content dashboard: determines what the character “speaks” (audio lines).
Subtitle content dashboard: determines what appears on screen as subtitles.
After you edit dubbing content, subtitles will sync automatically; if you don’t want them to sync, edit the subtitle content dashboard separately.
Click the 「Speaker」 color block in the dubbing dashboard to view the current number of speakers and change the voice for each speaker. You can choose and switch between 「This Project (Original Audio)」, 「AI Dubbing」, and 「My Voices (Historical Voice Assets)」.
When you’re done, click 「Export」 in the top-right corner, choose the resolution and format, and export your video.
